About Us
The mission of Openivo is to put the control of TV programming, and TV advertising, in the hands of the viewers.
The Openivo project is an effort to share the benefits of open-source media center software not only with the technologically adept, but with the public at large. The current concept is to act as a management level that runs on top of MythTV. Openivo would take the place of the MythTV expert in the house (or next door) who helps installation and configuration and intervenes to maintain the system. All the media center software developed by Openivo will be open source.

Passion about Data. Data about Passion.
I have always loved television and computers. I was a philosophy major at Northwestern, completed medical school and Health Policy and Management at Johns Hopkins. I was the lead anesthesiologist for the Study of Medical Testing for Cataract Surgery. I learned that knowledge is not found in things that make sense theoretically, but in analysis of large data sets. I loved TiVo, but I hated monthly fees. I upgraded several computers and installed software to act as media center PCs. I saw that a network of home theater PCs, like I had already built, would put the viewer in control of television and TV advertising.
